Hobby Classes in Bhubaneswar for Adults: Guitar & More

Most of us have a list of things we "always wanted to learn". Guitar. Dancing. Working with clay. If you're searching for hobby classes in Bhubaneswar for adults, this guide is for you. It covers beginner-friendly classes and workshops you can book with GoWeekends, with honest notes on which ones have dates open right now.

No talent test, no prior experience. Just turn up curious.

Why start a hobby class now?

The festive season is busy, and Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026. A weekly class gives you something steady in the middle of it:

  • A fixed weekend slot that's just for you
  • Visible progress: your first chord, your first routine, your first clay piece
  • New people who are learning the same thing
  • A break from screens for a couple of hours

How GoWeekends hobby classes work

There are two easy ways to learn something new with us:

  1. Monthly hobby classes. These run over several weekends, so you build a skill step by step. You'll find them on our hobbies page.
  2. One-session workshops. These are 2-hour, hands-on sessions where you make or learn one thing and take it home. Browse them on the workshops page.

What you learn in the first month

  • Music basics: natural notes (A to G), sharps and flats, and notes on the fretboard
  • Technique: sitting position, holding the guitar and pick, left-hand finger placement
  • Three finger exercises for coordination and control
  • Your first song: Happy Birthday
  • Your first three open chords: E minor, D and C
  • Your first strumming pattern: down-up, combined with chord changes

What to bring

  • Your own guitar, plus a pick if you have one
  • A water bottle
  • A notebook or phone for notes and practice material

Beginner tips for your first month

  • Practise a little, often. Ten to fifteen minutes a day beats one long session a week.
  • Expect sore fingertips. It's normal in the first weeks and eases as you practise.
  • Tune before every practice. A free tuner app on your phone is enough.
  • Go slow on chord changes. Clean and slow comes first; speed follows.
