Candle Making Workshop in Bhubaneswar: Wax & Whimsy

A candle making workshop in Bhubaneswar is one of the easiest ways to turn a free weekend afternoon into something you can actually take home. You melt, colour, scent and pour, and two hours later there's a candle on the table that you made yourself.

This guide covers GoWeekends' candle making workshop, Wax & Whimsy: what you'll learn, what's included, where it happens, and how to grab a seat when the next date opens.

Why a candle making workshop in Bhubaneswar?

Candle making suits almost anyone:

  • It's beginner-friendly. You don't need any art or craft background.
  • It's calming. Measuring, stirring and pouring wax is slow, focused work.
  • It's giftable. A handmade candle is a lovely present, especially in festive season.
  • It could be a start. The workshop is designed for hobbyists and for anyone curious about starting a small creative business.

Meet Wax & Whimsy

What you'll learn

The instructor starts with the basics and builds up step by step:

  • Types of wax, fragrance oils and colour blending
  • The right wax melting temperature
  • How to mix fragrance properly for a long-lasting scent throw
  • How to pour wax smoothly into jars and silicone moulds
  • Wick placement and centering
  • How to avoid cracks, air bubbles and sinkholes
  • Colouring techniques for good-looking candles
  • Safe demoulding for detailed flower candles
  • Curing, setting time and storage tips

By the end you'll take home two handcrafted candles, and you'll know enough to make them again on your own.

  • Premium waxes, fragrances and colours
  • Guidance from an experienced instructor

Tips for your first candle workshop

  • Pick your scent mood beforehand. Fresh, floral or warm? It helps you decide faster when blending.
  • Go slow when pouring. Smooth pouring is half the secret to a neat finish.
  • Be patient with demoulding. Flower moulds have fine details, so follow the instructor's demoulding steps.
  • Let it cure. Ask the instructor about curing and setting time before you light your candle at home.
  • Take photos. Chai Break's café setting makes for nice pictures of your finished candles.
